I have 4 students that are still in the stage of creative writing in i.t.a. only. My question is: We will dictate the word to them and they will want to jump right to writing the words in their notebook without completing the whole protocol of using the whiteboard for dashes for sounds and writing the sounds at the same time verbalizing the sound with the symbol. We have them go back to write on the white board. I have noticed that they are getting the sounds correct when they jump the steps. Is it okay to let them jump the steps if they are getting all the sounds correct in the words that have 3-4 sounds only?
